Laboratory for functional genomics of genitourinary cancers
LEARN MOREOur research
Our research aims to elucidate the fundamental mechanisms by which genitourinary cancers evade immune-mediated destruction. We employ CRISPR-based genetic screens in patient-derived humanized models to identify key genetic drivers of immune evasion, with the ultimate goal of informing the development of next-generation immunotherapeutic strategies. Situated at the interface of surgery, engineering, immunology, and genetics, our laboratory fosters a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment for scientific discovery.

Our people
The Lawson lab is a team of highly collaborative and multidisciplinary researchers focused on the development of strategies that deploy engineered immune cells to selectively seek and destroy tumors.
